Roundtail Delia Hybrid Commuter Road Bike
RoundTail design removes the standard seat stay, chain stay and seat
tube of the typical diamond-shaped bike design. Instead, two rings
support the weight of the rider. This revolutionary new design creates a
vertically compliant, laterally stiff ride with numerous benefits.

more than 4,000 years, builders have relied on the incredible power of
the arch. It's a time-proven geometry. On the RoundTail , the rings
serve as a pair of arches to create a strong, responsive, forgiving
of the RoundTail's rings, the path of impact is no longer a straight
line from the bottom bracket shell and rear dropouts to the rider's
body. Vibrations must follow the shape of the frame, and the rings
dissipate energy from impact.
RoundTail is the kind of bike that makes you want to ride. It's equal
parts bicycle, sculpture and modern art. It's the kind of bike you think
about while you're at work. And even better, because of the
RoundTail's design, hours on the bike won't leave you beat up and
fatigued like a traditional bike. Cycling just became a lot more fun.
placement of the bottom bracket shell, along with the rear dropouts and
seat post, remain the same. The RoundTail offers all the benefits of
traditional sizing with the improved ride quality.
RoundTail eliminates the vertical and direct surface areas of the seat
tube and rear stays. The rings join near the front and then open up,
allowing air to flow between the rings to reduce drag.
tubing used in the steel rings creates a frame that is both strong and
light. Hollow tubing also allows for internally routed cables and a
hidden rear brake that give the bicycle a clean, sleek appearance.
Each RoundTail frame is crafted by an expert frame builder with years of experience whom Lou Tortola has personally selected.

conventional diamond geometry, jarring vibrations are channeled
directly to the rider's spine. For any rider in any discipline, comfort
matters, which is why bike companies have spent millions developing
composites to deliver a more comfortable ride. But they have been stuck
for decades, enslaved to the concept of a triangle.
2010, after a season filled with long-distance rides, Lou Tortola -
inventor of the RoundTail - began to rethink the shape of a bicycle
frame. Why had the bicycle frame remained nearly unchanged for so long?
Tortola broke through the barriers of the triangle. He believed that a
pair of continuous rings beneath the rider would absorb road vibrations
without compromising performance or lateral stiffness. Five months
later, his vision became a reality.
testing and Finite Element Analysis proved that the RoundTail provides
more than 10 times the vertical compliance of a standard double-diamond
frame, and the ring design absorbs 60 times more road vibrations. This
breakthrough reduces stress and fatigue to the rider's body, which means
you can spend more time in the saddle - comfortably.
RoundTail design delivers a bicycle that gives every rider - from the
Iron Man competitor to the weekend warrior to the commuter - a strong,
fast, enjoyable ride.
